Something-Something

I don't know how I did it but I lost a day. This was supposed to be posted yesterday as it was Thursday. Anyway, here we are G&T fans. Another little blurb from REMEMBERING YOU.

Set-up -- If you remember, last week Genna and Uncle Sally had gotten 'into it' about Nana Rocco's money. And Genna was walking home.

Rating -- PG 13. I think there's only one swear this time. (Yes, I'm toning down my potty mouth.)

Disclaimer -- Please please please also remember this is a first draft. I don't do any editing for these posts as I'm trying just to write it all down. And it will only be up for two days so if you want to wait until the weekend, it won't be here.

Brave brave - posting your work. I like the emotion of Fortuna have alzheimer's. Always a tricky issue.

Christi -- Thanks. Well, it's coming along anyway. I don't know where it's going to end up. Genna threw me another curve ball.

Joanne -- Thanks.

Laura -- Very tricky. I wonder what I'm going to do with it.

Another great scene.
I like when they throw me curveballs. Keeps it interesting, no?!

Happy Mother's Day/Weekend!

Lola

Oh, memory-loss. I know all about that first-hand. Good description of the early stages, and as always, nicely done.

Hope your Mom's day weekend is lovely! And looking forward to pictures sometime soon. :-)

Hope you have a great weekend!

Lola -- Happy Mother's Day! xoxo

Summer -- Thank You. I've lost the directions to the camera. I mean I put them down and now I can't find them.

Talli -- Thank you...have a great weekend yourself.

Oh gosh! The memory loss thing is so powerful -- I can see it's going to unravel and cause even more drama than what's already bubbling for this family. Love it as always, darlin!!

This aspect of the novel has my interest -- the subject of memory loss and aging is a fascinating topic to explore in fiction. It's really shaping up; great first draft! Looking forward to the next installment!!

Happy Mother's Day, Anne!

This is the first Genna and Tony post I've read, so I'm a little behind on the backstory, but I thought it was well done. Especially for a first draft.

Anne Gallagher said...

Shelley -- Wait until next week. OOhhhh the DRAMA!!!

Nicole -- Thank you so much. Happy Mother's Day to you!

Angie -- Thank you muchly. I'm sorry you haven't been around for the other posts. It's been an interesting ride so far.

Poor Fortuna, and poor, poor Sally. Lovely snip, Anne :)

You know you can go onto the camera makers website, put in the model and they will have the directions there online.

I wanna see that fence! :)

Excellent handling of dialogue to reveal the characters' situations, their concerns and anxieties. This is the only excerpt I've read, but I think it is very good!! Especially impressive that it's first draft.

I'm so thrilled this was still up when I got here today. I would have been crushed to have missed it. Poor Fortuna. Such a terrible thing to have to deal with. You're doing such a great job of making us care about these characters. I can't wait for the next installment.

BTW, have a Happy Mother's Day. :)

Tara -- But remember this is a sort of romance and I can't bear to have non-happy endings.

Lola -- I promise I will figure out the camera and you will see the fence. Promise. xoxo

Ann -- Thank you so much for the lovely compliments.

Sarah Jayne -- I'm glad you got to see it. Thank you. Happy Mother's Day to you.:)

Poor Fortuna. To have your faculties slowly leave you is a horrifying experience. I worked with a 85 year old, stormtrooper of a woman -- only to watch in helpess torment as her mind slowly slipped from her.

You did an excellent job, Anne.

There is a Mother Day's gift on Sunday's post to all my friends. I think you might like it. It has a video of a mother speaking of feeling as if she were slowly growing invisible in the eyes of her children and husband. It ends well.

Skip Saturday's tribute to my own mother. Trust me on this.

I pray that this Spring and coming Summer brings you only happiness, Roland

Thank you Roland.

Aw man, I'm a slow poke. I've been out of the blogging loop this past week and missed it :( Ah, next time, eh?

But, love the look of your blog now! Fabulous!
