Random Stuff

Well, first I want to say, I must clean my desk. The notes I had written on little pieces of paper for this post are no longer on my desk, nor in my house anywhere. I must have gremlins. Oh the frustration of having to go through blogger once more for addresses and links.

The question for the day is -- when my post comes up on your blog roll, do you see just "Piedmont Writer" or does my new lighthouse picture come up as well? I don't know, I can't see it. I'd hate to think you all get exposed to my lighthouse every day.

I'd like to Welcome and say Thank You to all these new friends. Valerie, Tessa, Lisa, Bossy Betty, Catt, Amber, Damyanti, Jamie, Ted, Jen, Anamike, Deniz, Crimey, Wendy, Jessica, Shannon and Susan R. Mills. All are awesome writers. Thanks so much for joining me here. I've always got a pot of coffee and something to nibble on, so grab a gnosh, pull up a chair and join in the fun. I'll be round to your blogs to join you over the weekend.

Lucy Woodhull from You Say Weird Like It's a Bad Thing is having a contest. She's giving away a book from her friend Jennifer Haymore, who recently found out she has cancer. Lucy believes that if enoungh people buy the book, A TOUCH OF SCANDAL, the cancer will go away. A good thought, and support none-the-less, however if you have a minute, a prayer may do just as well.

Samuel Park from Daily Pep for Writers had this to say about writing a first draft. If you missed it, or haven't met him yet, do so now. This is fabulous!

Roni at Fiction Groupie had a post on whether or not to go with e-publishers. Interesting read. I have actually been mulling this one over for awhile even though I swore I would never. Hey, a girl's got to have some money right? But as I said I'm still mulling it over. (Not for Genna & Tony of course, but for the Regency series.)

If the links don't work, please go and see these talented writers.

Thank you all so much for coming to my birthday bash. I had a great time. Although no one guessed my age. Which is really okay, but I thought someone might have. I guess that means my stock in Oil of Olay is working.

And don't forget about another Genna excerpt tomorrow. (I've figured out what day it is anyway.) Shelley, this one's for you! There's a big surprise coming your way!

Happy HumpDay!

Your birthday bash was the best one I had ever been too. Oh and sorry about the lights I hadn't meant to twirl them around so much, I'll pay for a new set next year!

I see your name, however when I visit I see your beautiful lighthouse which is so serene and wonderful! I love visiting your neck of the woods!

Thanks for the welcome!!! I will have that snack now!!!

I loved the party! My sidebar blogroll only has the little Blogger symbol and Piedmont Writer. It's only when I open your actual blog that I see the gorgeous lighthouse. I was a longtime fan of Guiding Light (to the tune of over 30 years!) and since it's been off the air in Sept. '09 I have a huge soft spot in my heart for lighthouses. It's like coming home every time I open your blog :)

Those gremlins are beyond annoying!!

Thanks for the links. It is always a pleasure to stop by for a nibble! ;o)

Your lighthouse doesn't show up in my reader, just so you know. But I do think it is lovely!

Thanks for the links, I'll go check out some more writers.

Same as everyone else with the blog roll. I just see your name and the title of your current blog. I LOVE the picture of the lighthouse though!

I loved your birthday bash :) It was way fun!

And I read that post by Samuel about a first draft too, it was awesome!

Wendy -- As long as you got home safely.

Jen -- Don't worry about the lights. They were cheap enough.

Betty -- Snack away!

Courtney -- My pleasure.

Michelle -- Reminds me of the one back home.

Patti -- Off you go!

Crystal -- Samuel is awesome!

I'd love to hear more about your e-publishing decision-making, Anne. Why were you so against it, and what made you change your mind? Thanks for all the nice links! I don't see your lighthouse in my reader, but it is indeed a nice picture when I come here.

Piedmont Writer said...

Talli -- Fab birthday! Best one eva! Did you see my date?!

Sarah -- I only wish it were ghosts, those I could handle. Losing my mind, not so much.

Piedmont Writer said...

Davin -- When I formulat my theory I will send you an e-mail.

Happy belated birthday! I don't see your lighthouse photo on my blog roll, but it is very pretty and I wouldn't mind even if I could. Thanks for the links!

No lighthouse in Dashboard, only Piedmont Writer and the title. That's weird, too, because I get artwork from some blogs, but not others. Hmmmm. :)

DL Hammons said...

No lighthouse here either. :)

The birthday party was a blast! Watching Wendy stumble around sloshed and Jen playing with the lights was a hoot!

Shelley Sly said...

I can't wait for Genna!!! Lots of exclamations, so you know I mean it! ;)

Piedmont Writer said...

Angie -- Most welcome.

Terry -- Must be the ghosts.

DL -- Yeah, everything was great until you threw me in the pool! Ya big lug! Luv ya!!

Shelley -- I can't wait either! How are you feeling? Better I hope???

Another one here who can only see the lighthouse when I'm in the blog, but it steered me away from the rocks so all is well!

I love your lighthouse! I've been to the top of one before. It got pretty tight at the top. Thanks for the links.

I wish your lighthouse DID show up! It's pretty. :)

Hee! Can't wait for tomorrow and my Tony and Genna fix. :) And I'd also like to know what you're thinking about e-publishing.

Anne, I'm getting there. I'm actually even more sore than I was the first day, because now my whole body is feeling it, but I can tell I'm healing slowly. Thanks for asking! I have that kind of luck where things like this always happen to me...

I'll be back here tomorrow!

Piedmont Writer said...

Sarah Jayne -- Funny you. I guess I'm going to have to put my thoughts together and do a post about it. A few others have asked me what I thought too.

Shelley -- I just hope you don't have any long lasting effects from this. And your beautiful face isn't ruined. Little monster boy!

I was afraid to guess your age; it's always seemed like a no-win situation.

Hi Anne,

I don't see the lighthouse. :) And thanks for the welcome!!

Tahereh -- Well if I'm a rockstar then you're a shooting star.

Ted -- I'm 48.

Shannon -- You're very welcome for the welcome.
