My dearest friends, I can't thank you enough for all the help, support, love and chocolate you threw my way yesterday. You can't even begin to know how much it means to me. You guys are the best. I wish I could have a giant sleep-over and we could stay up all night talking. And eating. And talking. And eating some more.
I wanted to give you a weather report, we are in the midst of high wind warnings. After last week's snow/ice storm, severe tree damage cut power and internet capabilities, mine included. So in case I don't blog for a few days, you'll know my internet/power is out.
However, I would like you all to know I wrote something that I think will be funny as well as enlightening. It's really kind of cool, if I do say so myself, and I think it will explain a lot of the emotional upheaval I've been feeling in recent weeks. I may even have a shot at it being posted somewhere other than here, which is kind of exciting, but he's not really sure if he can do it because it's kind of too long right now, but we'll see. (Do I sound like a 16 year old surfer dude or what?)
Falen Formulates Fiction is having a contest over at her blog, prize is a $25 gift certificate. Go check it out.
I hope you are all safe and dry, most of you are probably still digging out from the Snowmargeddon. I'm sorry for that. But no one can say we will be in a drought this summer, eh?
I'll talk to you all when I do. And thank you all so much for putting up with my madness.

Hi Anne,
I look forward to reading what you wrote...where would I find it? I hope you keep your power (ie: stay powerful?) and that you can keep things going. (I had no power here for awhile yesterday afternoon...happens semi-frequently out here, in the boondocks.)
Erin
Erin -- I'm going to post it on Friday. If the power stays on, so far so good.
Can't wait for Friday to see that piece, then! Now I'm dying with curiosity!
I'm so sorry you've been buried in bad weather. That just sucks. I've shamelessly been enjoying the sunny, but cold, weather here, the dry ground, the clear roads. It's RARELY like this in February here. I know this is a fluke. I'm sorry you're getting it all instead. I'm sure our time is coming. Ugh.
Glamaliscious -- I sent you that piece last night.
Oh boy. Good luck with the weather. It's pretty bad over here too (we have close to 3 feet of snow) but our power hasn't gone out yet. Hope you don't get cut off from the blog world. :(
I look forward to reading your writing as well!
Thanks Shelley, did you find the buffet okay?
I'm so glad you're feeling better. FWIW we got ten inches here with high winds and blowing and drifing.
And I'm looking forward to reading your surprise Friday treat. :)
Thanks Sarah -- I'm sorry you got more snow. I guess Punxatawney Phil was right. 6 more weeks. I hope you like the surprise.
oooh - tantalizing hints!
we're getting another 1-3 inches here which means i'll probably be forced to shovel. Also the ice dams on my house are HORRIBLE. But i know i just have to make it through march and then the weather will begin to turn around
Warmth, that's all I ask for is a little warmth.
The last time I shoveled I really honest to God thought I was having a heart attack. I scared the baby and my mother, she almost called 911. So I decided I don't care how much snow we ever get again, I'm not shoveling.
The wind here is frigid but there's no snow in sight :(( I'd love an old-fashioned snow day... And your talk of a sleep-over with a bunch of writer friends, up all night talking shop and eating, sounds like a dream to me! Looking forward to Friday and your newest writing :)
Nicole -- I'd love to have a bunch of us get together. Wouldn't it be nice to finally meet in person? Maybe some day when we're all published with a little extra money we could do a conference or something. Not the same as home but hey, we could trash the hotel room and order all the brownies we wanted from room service.
Haha, trashing the hotel room and ordering room service. I'm in! ;)
And yes, the buffet was amazing, thank you. Your chef talent shows!
Thank you Shelley, I try. Breakfast and cocktail parties were the only two venues I really enjoyed. The restaurant, banquets and private function dinners were all just work.
I love breakfast, could eat it all day, and when I lived in Nevada I did.
