Frustration

I'm sure you have all been where I am right now. I have been sitting on gmail for the last hour and twenty minutes composing a letter to a friend who is helping me with the damned query. I thought it automatically saved as I wrote.

Small One was playing with her little friend down here in the office/playroom. They got into a slight disagreement which I turned my back on the screen for 3 seconds. The next thing I knew the letter was gone. Gone. I searched, everywhere. I can't find it. An hour and twenty of questions, follow-up, new ideas, GONE. It is nowhere. I even went into places I never knew existed. It only said I was on the computer from this address at that time.

Can you hear me screaming from where you are? Somebody pass me the box of Kleenex because I think I might cry.

I know, I know, it's just a letter, it wasn't like a query, or a resume, or something really important like a partial but still, it's frustrating. I thought the damn thing SAVED as I wrote. I guess I must have inadvertantly hit a key I wasn't supposed to hit. AAARRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!

So now I know I will have to be really careful when I send anything from this account. Thank you in advance for your commiseration.

honestly, i think it's worse when it's a letter or an email response. Because you HAVE to do the query, or rewrite the piece of novel that you lost. You don't have to respond to an email, so it makes it that much harder to rewrite.
sigh.
how can technology be both a friend and an enemy?

Yep, been there and had that happen. It reall does make you want to cry or throw things at the computer.

So, yes, I feel your pain. And hopefully when you get over being bummed, you'll find that re-writing the letter comes easier as memory kicks in big time.

Good luck with the rewrite.

thanks you guys. I don't think i'm going to bother rewriting the letter. So much work went into it and my brain is totally fried. Small One is being monster baby at the moment and I can't get any quiet so I'll have to start over from scratch when she's at school tomorrow. I think. Who knows. I wish I had some chocolate.

Was this to me? Because I got the one you sent me yesterday. I'm still in the midst of answering so it's thorough and worth your time. :)

I'm sorry you lost stuff. :(

No it wasn't to you, someone else who's helping too because 2 heads are better than one and I'm not playing anymore. I feel a migraine coming on.

Thanks for helping out. I'm sorry I lost stuff too. I don't know how I did it, one second it was there and then POOF, it was gone. I totally freaked out and started screaming. I scared the Small One's friend so badly he went home.

Thanks for the Chocolate, have any more? I'm needing like POUNDS if it today.

Ouch. I'm sorry. **virtual kleenex**
I'm now concerned about gmail, because I would have sworn it saved as you went. Hmm...This is displeasing.
I hope you were able to remember most of the original letter.
