ARGH!!!

Good Monday morning everyone. I just thought I should tell you that my best laid plans went awry, then completely ran amok.

Monster Baby has been fighting something for the last week and on Friday finally got real sick and well, you know how that goes. And of course she only showed symptoms AFTER the doctor's office closed...

Nevertheless, I did get a chance to work on the ms. but found, to my detriment I had to pull two scenes. They just weren't working. (Fill in expletives here.) In between changing the movie selections, finding the missing stegosaurus and providing sustenance and fluids for the Monster Baby, I wrote 3000 more words. (Which if I hadn't had to pull those scenes, my word count would be so much more. More expletives here.) So the sidebar count is 83,090. We are at the rehearsal dinner, tomorrow is the wedding and then the sad good-bye for Genna. And then I will be done. Please, Dear God Almighty in Heaven, let me be done with the first draft.

I also worked on my query (which has been in revisions for weeks) and with Rick's help have finally nailed it. I'll try and post it soon for your comments.

Real life is stepping in as well this week, a LOT (more expletives) so I have no idea when I'll be able to get back to it but by all that's holy, I'm going to try my very best to be able to post on Friday at the Grille I am finished. Truthfully, I'm sick of talking about it. (Yeah, I know, so just shut up about it already.) I just want it to be over. And I promise, pretty soon it will be.

And I swear to you right now, I will not mention one word about my synopsis struggles.

So I'll see you when I see you. Write on everyone!!!

Hope the little one feels well soon and good luck on finishing up that first draft!

I look forward to seeing your query. I'm working on mine and really don't know where to start (I only admit that to myself, so don't tell!). But seriously, it sounds as though you have things covered and I wish you the best of luck.

Sorry about your little one.

Don't be too hard on yourself - you have done wonders writing 3000 words with everything else going on. I hope monster baby feels better soon, and that the fate of the missing stegosaurus was resolved!

I am amazed that you managed to get any writing done in the wake of Monster Baby's clearly planned symptoms. ;o) Good luck! I hope that we get to read you've finished it on Friday, too. <3

Don't let it get to you! The whole week is still ahead.

I know you probably do not have a lot of time for reading, but its the best way to become a great writer. When you get a chance pick up Secrets of a Mysterious Older Woman by Constance Feathers

Good luck with your To Do List. You have a full week to get stuff done. I'm at the library now because there are no distractions. Except for that jerk smacking his gum.

Well, this morning I added another 1200 words so you're right, all is not lost. Thanks for all your good thoughts. Monster Baby is doing well for the most part. We have an appointment again with the allergist on Wednesday to see if we can figure this out. Last year she wasn't allergic to anything. Well, any of the 36 things they tested her for.

Stephen -- Don't you just hate that?

Deadlines are good, but you always need to cut yourself a break if your schedule isn't going as planned. Hope MB gets better soon!

Bless your heart! I hope MB gets better quickly, the wedding goes off without a hitch, that you don't experience ANY computer or internet woes, and that on Friday, or maybe even Thursday, we'll be reading about how you're not only finished, but you've sent out your first query.

Good luck!!!!

Sometimes less is more. Those deleted words may well be the best words that never see print in that they make your novel flow easier and smoother.

Life has a way of intruding into our dreams. Sigh. I hope your query comes easier to you than your first draft. I hope your baby is much improved by now, Roland

I hope MB is feeling much better. And, seriously, you wrote a LOT considering you were taking care of a sick child.

Whatever is going in in the Real Life, I hope you find some time to have some fun.

Love,
Lola

Hey - sometimes you have to back up to move forward. I've had to cut scenes lots of times, or go back and revise because the story was going in the wrong direction (like into a wall). But it seems your cutting has done you some good. Good luck in finishing!

I hope Monster Baby is feeling better or will soon!!! I hate when that happens, it seems like the world stops until they feel better, who wants their baby to suffer!!!

Good job on getting some writing done, cutting scenes is so hard so way to go you!

See, this is why I get so ticked at Blogger. I stopped by yesterday and commented on this. Grr. Okay - it was me, just forgot when your page reloaded to scroll down and put in word ver., but still.

I see we have children who get sick on Friday at 6pm in common. Annoying, isn't it? I hope Monster Baby is feeling much better today.

Aggravation aside, congrats on getting some words down, and cutting some fluff :)

I hope MB feels better soon! Sounds like you're doing great on your WIP despite everything going on. Best of luck to you -- and don't apologize for talking about it so much, we're cheering you on!

LAST DAY TODAY ie WEDNESDAY

Hope you make your deadline. I am sure mine will need revising (again). And don't sweat the synopsis. If the story is great, the synopsis is bound to follow. I like to think of it as a more informative blurb. Good luck.

Hope your daughter is better now.
You've made progress. Even if you type one sentence you've made progress on some days you need to take comfort in that!
