Friday's at the Piedmont Grille

So far I've written three posts for today but they're not especially happy so let me leave you with this...

If you will
practice
being fictional for a while,

you will understand
that fictional characters
are sometimes more real
than people with
bodies and heartbeats.

Richard Bach ~ Illusions The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

SO true. Have a great weekend!

They do say truth is stranger than fiction.

So I guess fiction is realer than truth is a reflection of that.

Hope tomorrow is less sad.

You know my email if you need to vent, chickadee.

I love it. It's so true. I swear I know my characters than I know my own husband. Sad, huh?

Hope things brighten up for you soon. *hugs*

Funny I wrote about a man I cared about in a piece called "Fiction." I like this quote you have today.

Yes, sometimes I'd rather hang out with a book than with real people. I have to make sure I don't become a hermit!

IT's gonna be a hot one. Sweat out your worries, and then cleanse it all in the pool (some of us have to make do with a bathtub).

Have a fab-o weekend, and I"ll see you on the flip side.

very true. It's crazy sometimes how things I'm writing about influence my 'real time' mood. If its a fun scene, I'm all smiles. If its sad, I have a heavy heart for a while and my hubby just doesn't get it...

it's so true, and one of the gifts of writing fiction. there is so much truth in the imagination we channel.

BTW, new post up for the Novel Summer writing challenge - http://thisisnotnotmydayjob.blogspot.com/2010/06/novel-summer-2010-writing-challenge.html
Let us know how it's coming if you get the chance! And feel free to vent if you need to - I know I feel a vent coming on. :)

Nail on head moment! One of the things I've heard a couple times about characters in my book is "would people really do that? Drop everything just to help a friend?" In my fictional world they do! Maybe the real world could learn from that?

Fiction grows from our understanding of the human condition - I just wrote that over on my Blog - without the poetry!

And that was just freaky:
Word Verification: Happe - name of the researcher, studying precocious talents, who interviewed my boy at four.

This is so true...I keep them in my mind, the ones I created when there was no one else...along with the ones I met and befriended in those wondrous paper kingdoms...
Happy Weekend!

I definitely have these sorts of days. Some days I just end up not posting at all. But I hope that soon you find yourself writing happy posts. You've posted a lovely poem, though. Very insightful.
