I Am Ready -- AGAIN

For my faithful followers, there is no Piedmont Grille today. Sorry. And no, this isn't part of the A-Z challenge, although it looks like it. Sort of.

No my friends, today I will begin querying again. TA DA!

Yesterday I finished my dreaded synopsis. I worked on another version of my query and I feel ready to jump back into the fray of agent land. I have scoured through the sites and picked my favorites and all I have to do now is bundle all that is required for submission and I am on my way.

For those of you have never entered this strange and wonderful land, it is fraught with danger (did I make sure I discovered all the typo's) and disaster (did I have enough in my query to compel them to request a partial or full) and disillusionment (this is the most perfect book they will ever read and call me without hesitation).

Three years, three books, and so much in between, I am beside myself with joy, anxiety, and a perpetual knot in my stomach. I know you may think I'm conceited when I say this, but truly, this is one of the best books I have ever written. Of course I've only written three, but I have grown as a writer, and from my last post, I can honestly say, I kept my POV together.

I know you all wish me luck, but wish it again anyway. I need all I can get.

Have a great weekend everybody. I'll be drowning myself in Pepto-Bismal waiting by the inbox.

If you didn't feel this was the best book you've written you shouldn't be querying! Congrats and enjoy the ride!

Thanks Laura. As for being the best book, I thought that about the first one. What funny tricks our minds play on us.

Thank you so much everyone! I sent out 14 so far and I'm sweating bullets every time I get an auto-response. I've been rejected in less than 15 minutes before so...you know how that goes.

I may not get around to blogs today, I have so much STUFF to do, I've put everything off to get this out and now I'm paying the price. Oh, laundry, how I hate thee!

I figure I'll be hot in query-land again this summer, once I get book 3 polished. But I'm with you, this book is my best and I'm excited to get it out there (but trying to be patient, too - how does that work?).

Good luck. Here's hoping for lots of requests!

Good luck, Anne! I hope everything works out your way!

Yay! More query buddies. Maybe we can form another NaNoQuerMo, but we'll call it

ApriQuerMo.

How does that sound?

Thanks again everyone. It's so hard to query, but most of you know that already.

Anne, when you start getting requests, I can assure you, it will have very little to do with luck! Best Wishes to you! I'm all excited and aflutter for you! :)

Good luck. I'm very excited for you. Remember me when you're famous :)

You guys are so funny. Susan, I already AM old, and believe me, I ain't no sissy. God knows, this is my third shot at it. And Natascha, I don't think I'll ever be "famous" but I will remember you. I have a memory like an elephant. With thighs to go along with it.

Congrats on jumping back in the game. I'm still sort of smarting from our NaNo November query marathon. (And of course the agents who requested fulls still have them.) Good luck!

Good luck, Anne!

I feel like each book I write gets so much better. I hope this is the big one for you!

Anne Gallagher said...

With all you behind me, how can I possibly lose.

And Ter, if I don't, make sure you take out stock in Kleenex. You can at least make money off me one way or another.

Anne -- NaNoQuerMo got me exactly 1 partial and 1 full who both turned around in exactly 3 days with rejections. I still have (believe it or not) 5 queries still out there, and in two weeks they will be a no response means no.

God I hate querying. But my synopsis came together in the end so at least there's that.
