You HAVE to read this

I followed my nose yesterday afternoon and found this guy, J.M. Tohline, and he wrote this unbelievable post on the BIGGEST MISTAKES WRITERS MAKE WHEN THEY QUERY.

You need to read this whether you've queried before or not. He polled 100 agents and got their responses to what makes and breaks a query letter.

Go here now.

And then, when you're done there, go to his follow up post at the end. It's definitely worth the read.

That is all.

Anne, just left JM's post. Loved it! Informative, and a bit funny. (can't believe the miscues some of us have attempted:)

Thanks Anne, you're the best!

I scrolled through your posts, to catch up on you since my last visit last week...I'm so sorry about the full rejection. *hugs* But I have faith in you and your writing. NEVER GIVE UP!!

And, you write an awesome query letter...dude, that's not something to sneeze at.

Before I check out your link...you never stop by anymore. I see you everywhere, I still come here, but you never stop by. I hope I haven't done anything to offend you.

And last, Happy belated birthday to Monster Baby! :)

Love,
Lola

Wow, that gave me a headache *laugh* and reminded me why I know I'm not cut out for the machinery of the 'business'.

My hat is off to anybody who can do all those conflicting things to submit to agent after agent and still maintain some sanity. Thanks Anne for posting this- I will keep it in mind to pass on to friends who are still in the fray!

I wonder, and I find myself wondering why I wonder this...why this author didn't seem to post anywhere on his blog that the title of it is a line of Beatles lyrics?!? Seems to me that might be kind of an important thing to acknowledge. But then, you know me, I'm weird...

hugs!
