Another Quickie

Well, for those of you who are interested, Monster Baby did NOT get an electric pencil sharpener. Who knew they would be $29.99? Yeah, that's what I said.

And she didn't get her movie either, both Target and Wal-mart were sold out. (It was obviously not my day to shop yesterday.) So I got her a fly swatter instead. (There's a story behind it.) And a new game for her Leap Frog. ($5- marked down from $25-, score one for Mommy.) And some Silly Bands. And a new lunch box. Puppa and Yo-Yo are getting her new boots and a remote controlled dog. (So much for the real ones.)

So that's the birthday. I get to go to school today at lunch time and eat cardboard pizza. How much fun is that???

Just one little piece of writing business for you -- and it's not for or from me --

Shannon is hosting another Anonymous Critique over at her blog today and would appreciate if you would stop by. The last one (she said) went very well, and she'd like to keep it up. So if you have a few minutes, that would be swell.

See you at the Grille tomorrow. I hope. If the birthday party doesn't kill me tonight.

What movie did she want that both stores were out?

Whoa. Who knew electric pencil sharpeners were so expensive. My MIL got one for us, so I've never priced them. But Monster Baby's gifts sound wonderful!

Alex -- Believe it or not, The Incredibles. Disney (or Pixar I can't keep them straight).

Linda -- I couldn't believe it. They had battery powered ones but I wanted an electric. Thrift stores here I come.

Thanks for the shout out, Anne! <3

And yeah - 30 bucks for an electric pen sharpener? Just wow.

Have a great time at lunch!

oh man, i always LOVED it when our mom was allowed to eat lunch with us on our birthday. She couldn't always come because she worked nights, but when she did, it was awesome.

Incredibles is one of the family favorite here. Good luck with that cardboard pizza.

I want to know why you can't buy those wall mount sharpeners like they had in school. Those were the best.

I want a fly swatter!

Shannon -- That's what I said. What's it made of, gold?

Sarah -- Not really looking forward to the pizza but we have to do what we have to do.

Stephen -- Don't know why they didn't have the movie. Which really sucks because she's got almost all of them.

Matt -- I can't wall mount one. It's not my house.

Betty -- Aren't they the best!!!

Aww, Happy Birthday to Monster! Hehe. If she feels loved today, that is all she needs. :)

A fly swatter? Hmm? You'll have to explain that one cause all I conjure up is re-runs of me swatting my monsters thirty-some years ago.

Ugh, cardboard pizza! But your daughter sure got a nice variety of gifts. Too bad the pencil sharpener was so costly. But, if you go to Amazon, you can get a battery powered 1 for only $7.99. Here's the link: pencil sharpener

Score one for the shopping Mom :)

I love getting bargains. But I hate having to shop for them.

Cardboard pizza - ummm. I'm so glad those days are nearly over for me.

Have a good one Anne.
