I'm Back! Did You Miss Me?

Good Morning, my darlings. I'm back from blog/vacation and let me just say I had a WONDERFUL time. I spent two weeks on the beach back home in Rhode Island and it did me a world of good. I cried when I left. I miss the beach. But not as much as I missed all of you! I guess we have to let something go before we realize how much it means to us.

That being said, since I've been back I've been working on several different projects, least of which, is getting THE LADY'S FATE ready for publication on Kindle. This endeavor has been filled with anxiety, joy, and trembling fingers as I try and get the formatting just right. It's a lot harder than I thought. Needless to say, I have a surprise for all of you on Wednesday so if you have a chance, please stop by.

I found a new story, one that was sprung from my time at the beach. My beta thinks it's coming along nicely. Also have been working on Robert's story -- THE DUKE'S DIVORCE, and dabbling with THE EARL'S ENQUIRY. Those will be spotlighted on my new author blog, which I will unveil in the coming weeks. (I'm still tweaking.)

All in all, it has been a fantastic vacation, although returning from RI we did cut it quite close to getting The Monster back to school in time. But she's back full time, and I'm in work mode once again. I don't know if you've noticed or not, but I had to make some changes on the blog, and I am surrounded by water now, which I love. I also have a few new ideas for Friday's at the Piedmont Grille; I changed the menu, so to speak, so I am rather excited about that. (Look Bridget, did you see my use of a semi-colon in that sentence!)

It's good to be back and let me just say again how much I missed you all!

Tell me -- What have you been up to? What have I missed?

Welcome back! Of course we missed you, but I'm glad you had such an enjoyable and productive vacation. Same old, same old here in the blogosphere. (I like all the water on your new page.)

Susan -- Thanks. I missed you too. I love the water. Makes me feel like I could jump right in.

Talli -- It's so nice to be back. Thanks. I'm hoping for a regualr schedule, but one never knows when a hurricane might hit.

Glad to see you back! :)

I've been keeping myself busy with earthquakes and hurricanes. *grin*

Welcome back. 2 weeks on the beach is bliss. I love living near the water. Right now it's a river. I'd prefer the ocean.

My usual summer: visiting family, writing, revising, taking some trips to the beach.

1 week until school starts. Boo!

so glad you had a great vacation! And congrats on your kindle book! Just point me in the right direction when it's ready to order!

Anne Gallagher said...

Laura -- Exciting yes, I just wish I could keep the anxiety at bay.

Al -- I've seen your piccies. Beautiful as always.

Linda -- Yeah, how 'bout that earthquake? Good times. We didn't get the hurricane.

Theresa -- Always the ocean, always. I like that, 'usual summer'. Wish mine had been, but it was fun. One week, why the boo. I was jumping for joy when the Monster went back.

Anne Gallagher said...

Katie -- Not for another few weeks. But a surprise on Wednesday.

Anne,
I did miss you and when I saw your post in my blogroll I perked up and realized I hadn't seen one in a while. I'd love to hear more about your kindle editing adverture. It piques my interest. Summer has been crazy busy and I haven't had a chance to do as much writing as I like. It sounds like you did a lot. Something about the water always brings out the muse. I'm posting some pictures today of our beach. I LOVE the water. Welcome back!

Welcome back! I'm so glad you got to RI after all...I know how much you were hoping to. Thank you for your comments...and concern. All is well here...only a few hours without power and lots of small branches down. I think our challenging winter did a lot of natural pruning. Sounds like you are going full force with your writing! Yahoo! I'm slow, but trying to gear up again!

Welcome back! I just shake my head at how many projects you're able to juggle at once. You take multi-tasking to a whole new level! :)

Missed you!

Yay! Welcome back. I didn't miss you, because I was gone too, so I didn't know you were, but I would have!

Anne Gallagher said...

Yvonne -- Aww, thanks that's so sweet. I'll be posting about my editing adventure in a few weeks. I didn't get a chance to write before vacation, but since I've been back, it's been a whirlwind.

Liza -- Gear up, girl! I love what you write on your blog so anything from you is a win for me. I'm glad you made it through Irene relatively unscathed.

Mac -- You're just lucky you don't read Regency romance. You'd have your work cut out for you. Or should I say I'd have a lot of redline.

Jennifer -- I'm glad in a way that school started early, means I could go back to writing. But I do miss The Monster not being underfoot.

DL -- Not multi-tasking, just can't finish one before I start another. Besides, if I got everything done, then I wouldn't know what to do with myself. Probably something disgusting like the dishes or the laundry. Missed you right back. Glad you're back with us in the blogosphere. Hey how's that morning sickness?

Matt -- And I didn't know you were gone either, so neither one of us knew we would miss each other. Welcome back to you!

I DID miss you! And i love the new blog digs.
Well, my blog today and wednesday will be a nutshell of what i've been up to. Things have been both great and horrible all at the same time. Makes me want to take a nap just thinking about it.
I'm so happy you''re back!

Anne Gallagher said...

Sarah -- And I missed YOU! I'm sorry things are horrible, but that things are great too. Take a nap, you deserve it. How're things with Glimpse? Or is that part of the horrible?

Well, golly-ee! Missed you to. Welcome back. Love the water addition. And formatting? I've been in formatting hell copying my manuscript from one Word version to another, but I think I beat the bastard into submission.

Hooray! I'm so happy you're back, and the water is a very nice touch---keeping a wary eye out for sharks though. Did you see any in your two weeks at the beach? (Yes, I'm from the Midwest and assume all ocean waters are shark infested.)

Good luck with that formatting. Doesn't sound fun at all, but I'm excited to know you're this close to publication.

I love how you put this: "I found a new story"

Well, good luck settling into the routine, and I look forward to that annoucement...

Anne Gallagher said...

Ariel -- I've been keeping up with your revisions process. Glad you've finally finished and are happy with the results.

Em -- Come to my house and help me beat back mine. Tomorrow I begin the dastardly deed.

Tara -- Maybe THIS YEAR we can get together for coffee??

Rula -- Yay! Back to a normal routine!

Glamaliscious -- You're going to LOVE it!!

Bridget -- I thought you might enjoy that.

Christine -- I've been keeping up. I know how hard you've been working on them. Good for you!

Clarissa -- Thanks. The projects are keeping me busy that's for sure. The site will be up in just a few more weeks.

Anne Gallagher said...

Nicki -- No sharks this year. Although The Monster wanted to see some. As for 'finding' the story, wait until next Monday when I explain how I found it.

glad you had a good time in rhode island. god i miss new england summers.
you know, i had so much difficulty putting my books on the kindle becuz of formatting issues, i gave up. of course, i have little patience, but it never looked totally right. sounds like you are conquering the challenges, and that's awesome. kindle readers talk to each other and there's willing readers out there for your story.

Anne Gallagher said...

Ed -- It's so nice to see you here again. I've been reading your pieces on the seasons and they've quite captured me. Yes, Rhode Island was fantastic. I wish I still lived there, hurricanes and all, with all my heart. And never give up. Once I conquer the Kindle formatting issues, I'll tell you what I did so you can do it to.

Bish Denham said...

Do you see all these comments? Yes we missed you. Glad to have you back. Am looking forward to your new Friday menu. Love the water.

Hi Anne!
Yes, I live about an hour east of Raleigh. I95 really is a weather line - east gets hurricanes, west gets snow. So unfair.

Welcome back, my dear ;) Glad to hear of your summer siesta.

As for things on my side of the pond...there's been a book signing or two, coaching, parenting, and yes, the bothersome dayjob...taking the good with the ugly, as they say in the sticks...
