Friday's at the Piedmont Grille

Good morning my darlings. Another week has passed and we are still digging out of the snow. Well, yesterday we dug out of the snow. Actually, I dug out of the snow and Monster Baby played. Funny, I never, ever remember my father digging out the driveway when we were kids. Maybe because my brothers did it for money? I don't remember.

I've been playing with an ague this last week. Or quite possibly a malaise. At first I thought I had caught Monster Baby's cold, then I thought I was beginning with the flu. I've been in bed for most of the week but haven't figured out what's wrong with me. Perhaps it's just the winter depression hitting. I don't know. All I know is I just feel like shit. (sorry, but that's how I feel.)

Anyway, it's just too much. Monster Baby has been home since last Friday and I am slowly going out of my mind. I can't seem to get in 'writing mode'. And believe me I need to.

So here begins my hiatus. I don't know how long it will take. I have one ms. to finish, one to revise and another to get started. Plus deal with the queries I have out on REMEMBERING YOU. (Makes me just want to go back to bed.)

I may or may not post sporadically. You know I can't stay away from the blogs, but with the way I feel right now, it's anyone's guess if I'll even make it to the keyboard.

So have fun, keep in touch if you feel like it, I love email. Best of luck with all your own work, but you know, you don't really need to get an agent until I come back.

Okay, well if you really have to.

Take care of yourself! We will miss you while you're gone but we'll always be here lurking!!!

PS I had to help my dad shovel us out during the winter, but he didn't have any boys so us three girls had to do it. No money, just satisfaction (he said). Lame.

Hope you feel better soon, Anne. Winter is definitely the worst season. Too much snow. Too many freezing cold days. Too little sun. Too many illnesses. But the good news is that spring is lurking around the corner. And with it comes hope. And hopefully an agent. ;)

Lots of hugs Anne. I know what you mean about being snowed in. We're stuck here in AL due to a dump of 8 inches plus. And no school for a week! I just got over the flu myself so had hoped to write more this week, but the snow days have kicked my motivation to the curb. Cabin Fever!

I'm committed to 500 words a day for now due to a challenge I signed up for. Good luck and take care of yourself. You'll make up for the lost time when you are well.

Hugs!

Jen -- What is it with men not paying daughters for the same amount of work a boy does?

Stina -- An agent for my birthday would be a nice spring gift, yes?

Rula -- I plan on resting. Not much else to do. If I can get my head to cooperate I'll be on the keyboard soon.

Christine -- O.M.G. I hate snow days. A week to drive every mother on the planet absolutely out of their minds. I did manage 536 words yesterday so... not what I had in mind but with El Dorado blaring in the background, what am I going to do?

I feel your pain. Although I haven't been sick (sorry to hear you have been!), I am going stir crazy with the kidlets home all week. And Monday is MJK Day. *sigh* It'll be nice to get back into the daily groove. Weekend temps will be in the high 40s, so we're on our way...

Happy Hiatus! See ya on the flip side :))

Guess you just need to rest. But I hope you can at least be able to go outside for a walk. Or go to a mall & walk. Really, walking is great therapy & it's inexpensive! :)

Hi Anne, I just found you and am now following. We're on our third snow day here. Ugh.

I had a laugh with my dad, "the perfectionist shoveler" the other day reminiscing about his shoveling technique. My mother and I would go out to help and he'd reshovel our area if it wasn't scraped down to the bare driveway. Drove us nuts!

Hope you feel better!

I hope you feel better Anne. Maybe you have a sinus infection. My Mom and sister both had one recently and it really laid them low. So feel better. Good luck with everything. I need to get all those plates spinning too, but I'm feeling a bit of the January blues.

Sorry you feel like crap.
You'll get to the writing when you do. Yes writing will help lift you, but don't beat yourself up if you can't for the moment.

Sorry to hear you're sick. There's something to say for lousy weather breeding lousy colds. Without the sun, it's easy to just slip beneath the covers and hibernate until our bodies are ready to stand standing again. Hope yours goes quickly and your back to what you do best!
