It's OK to mourn a bit ...Those rejections hurt. It's OK to mourn a bit when you get them. But they probably don't mean much. That "your protag isn't strong enough" one drives me nuts. If you've got a good story, your character should grow and change and learn, so how can she be perfect on page 1? Sigh.<br /><br />All those rejections mean is that your book didn't make the agent (or her 17-year old intern) do somersaults and hear violins and/or the ca-chink of bestsellerdom in the 3 1/2 minutes she had to look at your partial. (Or if you sent it to Nathan Bransford, it did not have any monkeys LOL.)<br /><br />This is why we have to keep querying. It's mostly luck--hitting the right agent at the right moment on the right day. More sighs.<br /><br />It's OK to have a life outside the blog.
